Geek Offices in Cambridge is pleased to provide space to Greenbean Recycle , a MIT 100K ACCELERATE semi-finalist. Four Greenbean members will be using Suite 1 for the month of January as they prepare for the finals of the ACCELERATE competition. http://mit100k.org/

Greenbean Recycle is a software technology company that aims to increase recycling by incorporating real time analytics, social media, and gaming into its groundbreaking reverse vending machine and web app process.

Within seconds of inputting your glass bottles, plastic bottles and aluminum cans into the Greenbean machine, you get a real time feedback on the numbers of Kwh of energy that you have saved, have a record of the number of containers you have prevented from entering the landfills and get your refund straight into you PayPal account, Student ID cash or as a donation to a charity.

Greenbean’s Beta version of its unique reverse vending machine and web app process has been on MIT’s campus since the beginning of August. Tufts students will be able to compete against MIT in real time with a Greenbean machine set to arrive on their campus by the end of 2011.

Geek Co-working member KMDM has recently been acquired by Mobiquity to help meet the large demand for mobile devices. Read the article below from BostInnovation.

“Fresh off a March launch and funding round of $5 million, Boston based Mobiquity is already seeing incredible demand for their mobile service offerings. Demand so high that they have just announced their second acquisition of a local mobile development company, Cambridge based KMDM. Mobiquity had previously acquired Providence, RI-based Cronk Software. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Analysts say mobile computing will create a bigger and more profitable impact on businesses than the Internet through increased customer engagement, loyalty and higher employee productivity. And Mobiquity’s momentum to date is proving this out,” said Bill Seibel, CEO of Mobiquity. “Mobiquity’s strategy is to identify best-of-breed companies in the mobile space we can quickly roll-in to the company to continue meeting client demand for our services. We recognized KMDM as a mobile leader based on the strength and creativity of the work they’ve done for major brands in the market. Our vision for the future of mobile computing was similarly aligned. We’re delighted to welcome them to the Mobiquity team.”
